Great Barrier Island

There is no anchoring at Whangaparapara,  Blind Bay or Tryphena Harbour from mid September 2021 until further notice. This is to reduce the spread of the invasive seaweed Caulerpa brachypus. In August 22 it was proposed that the area be extended up to , but not including, Port Fitzroy. This has not happened but Great Mercury Island is also now included.
