Gulf Harbour Radio is a free service run by a couple who used to cruise and now want to give back something to the cruising community.
There are however lots of costs involved – the annual coast station radio licence, web site design and running costs, internet streaming, weather products, and our power bill more than doubles during the radio season due to the radio and amplifier, streaming, and the all important heating to keep the meteorologist comfortable! We want to retain our independence so are not sponsored by any commercial company or organisation. We rely on support from our listeners.
We have set up accounts with Wise. These are in all the main currencies so we hope this encourages easier support!
“Wise is an easy to use, low-cost, online portal for making payments abroad. The total fee is only about 1% or the amount transferred. That’s a lot less than most banks charge. The exchange rate used is the same as the rate as posted on Google, without any mark-up. A fast, easy-to-use, low cost, payment service!”
